Our benefits package is designed to support our employees’ health, financial security, retirement, and family/leisure time. The benefits that Mid Atlantic employees enjoy include:

Medical Insurance – Mid Atlantic offers a comprehensive hospitalization and major medical program.  Each employee is covered beginning one month after their start date. Medical insurance utilizes health programs through the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (“UPMC”), and their affiliation with the national Private Healthcare Systems Network.

Dental Insurance – We pay 50% of the premium for dental insurance provided through Sun Life Financial.

Life Insurance – Benefits are one and one half times annual compensation up to a maximum of $250,000, with coverage beginning one month after commencement of employment.

Long Term Disability Coverage – Coverage is at 60% of base salary for disabilities over 3 months duration up to age 65, with coverage beginning one month after commencement of employment.

Flexible Spending Account – A flexible spending account is available to employees, allowing them to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for dependent care and medical expenses not covered by other insurance coverages.

Vacation & Holidays – In the first 5 years of employment, staff members earn 10 days per year of paid vacation.  This increases to 15 days per year after 5 years.  In addition, all employees have the option to take up to 5 days per year of additional vacation time, which is unpaid. We provide paid time off for holidays in accordance with the schedule published each year by the NYSE.

Personal & Sick Time – Each employee is allocated up to 5 days per year of leave for personal illness, family illness, funerals, doctor appointments, etc.

401k Retirement Plan – Mid Atlantic matches up to 50% of the first 4% of the employee’s elective deferred contributions, which (subject to maximums under Federal law) may reach up to 18% of compensation.  The contributions are employee directed across a robust menu of investment choices.

Incentive Compensation Plans – All staff employees are included in Mid Atlantic’s “Great Performance” program, which provides monthly cash incentives to each team that meets its monthly goals. Team leaders participate in annual profit sharing awards based upon attainment of pre-determined corporate financial goals each year.

Service Awards – Each year at the holiday party, all Mid Atlantic employees are recognized for their length of service with cash awards and prizes.

Professional Development – Each Mid Atlantic team receives an annual budgetary provision to be utilized for the education and development of its team members throughout the year.  This may include continuing education courses, seminars, and specialized outside training sessions as determined by the team leaders and their team staff members.
